What to Expect from an Online Workshop:
This class is open to all skill levels. No metalwork experience is necessary. We’ll walk you through all the steps and share our favorite tips. Join us for
our live Zoom class or watch the replays at your own pace. In the classroom you'll have access to the written PDF tutorials with step-by-step photos and recordings
of the video sessions to watch as often as you need. There is also an optional private Facebook group for this class to ask questions and share your progress.
You'll have lifetime access to the classroom and Facebook group. You can watch the class materials anytime.
Workshop Contents & Schedule
May 4th, 10am - 12pm EST: Image Transfers - Learn our proprietary techniques for permanently adhering images to copper.
May 4th 1pm - 4pm EST: Faux Tin Components - Learn how to cut your Faux Tin pieces into a variety of shapes. Jess will share his tips on how to create buttery smooth edges on your Faux Tin pieces and how to make the most of your leftover elements. You’ll create several bracelet cuffs, earrings and pendants components.
May 5th, 1pm - 4pm EST: Faux Tin Jewelry - Dive into a variety of jewelry making techniques as we rivet, create unique links and findings. We’ll create two pairs of earrings, a bracelet and pendant necklace.
The classroom will include pre-workshop homework and lots of resources for print-ready images.
Required Tools:
Chain and round nose pliers
Flush wire cutters
1.5mm metal hole punch
Half round metal file
Metal shears
Steel bench block, rubber block and ball peen hammer
Rubber or rawhide mallet
Long palette knife
Kit Includes: Two 5.5 x 8.5” sheets of images featuring Heather’s original illustrations. 4x6” sheet of copper, 2x2” floral etched copper sheet, round copper connectors, all supplies for the image transfers, sandpaper, steel wool, wire, rivets, beads and findings to make 2 pairs of earrings, a pendant and a bracelet.
Class Requirements:
You'll need access to the internet, a Zoom account and Adobe Reader (it's free here) to access
the classroom materials. A Facebook account is required to join the optional Facebook group.
A camera is also optional if you'd like to take photos of your projects for feedback or questions.
